Copywriter

OsbornBarr, founded in 1988 with four employees and a single account, has a staff of more than 175 professionals today. We are the largest agricultural and rural focused marketing communications agency in North America with U.S. offices in St. Louis and Kansas City.

We know the agricultural industry inside and out. Though the company has recently celebrated its 23rd year of business, the expertise actually began long before the company opened its doors as co-founders, Joe Osborn and Steve Barr, worked in various marketing and advertising positions for Monsanto and John Deere. Since then, the agency has hired personnel who are not only experts in the marketing and branding field, but many O&B employees were either raised on or currently operate a farm. So literally, agriculture is a personal passion for us.

Qualifications

OsbornBarr has a challenging opportunity for a Copywriter in their St. Louis location. We are looking for a creative individual to contribute compelling copy to the agency's largest client, Monsanto. The Copywriter is responsible for concepts and creation of quality copy with minimal supervision, for print, TV, radio, web and collateral material.  Typical areas of measurement would be the degree of creativity, on-targetedness, the quality and timeliness of the product. 

Working along side an Art Director, the Copywriter's responsibilities include:
  • Transferring the advertising idea into copy;
  • Aligning finished product with clients’ expectations and sees project through to final product;
  • Ensures a quality product is produced in a variety of media.
Skills

We are looking for a dynamic Copywriter with five or more years experience in an advertising agency, enthusiasm for the agriculture industry, and strong conceptual and advertising copy skills. This individual should possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of production in a variety of media;
  • Ability to conceptualize solutions and then transfer into an advertising product;
  • Outstanding writing skills, editing, and proofreading ability;
  • Presentation skills necessary for client meetings and internal meetings;
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interface within the Agency and the client.
